Introducing Gridcast: advertising you can verify
I am building Gridcast, a digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising network for India, based in Chandigarh. Details are at gridcast.si.
The idea
Screens in neighbourhood shops, cafes and gyms run by small Android boxes, each with a camera. A vision system running on the device counts real people in front of the screen during a play, so advertisers can see measured audience presence instead of guessing from footfall estimates.
Where it stands
- Pre-seed, based in Chandigarh.
- The platform covers operator, admin and advertiser dashboards, a web player with pairing, a campaign builder and settlement.
- An Indian patent application has been filed for the underlying invention.
Why it matters to me
Advertisers in India still buy out-of-home on trust. Local screen owners are rarely paid for the audience they actually deliver. A measurable network helps both sides.
More updates will be posted here. For partnerships, screen placements or advertiser pilots, get in touch.
